New Process for Officials to Register 2025/26

 

ALL new Level 1 or Level 2 officials will firstly need to complete the online Introduction to Officiating course through Hockey Canada.


Officials between 12-14 must register as a Level 1 and officials who will turn 15 by December 31, 2025 will be able to register as a Level 1 or Level 2.


After completing the online HC course, they must register for an in-person Level 1 or Level 2 clinic. Visiting www.hockeynovascotia.ca for full clinic schedule.

Calling ALL Coaches!!! 2025-2026

Glace Bay Minor Hockey is seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering as a coach during the 2025-2026 hockey season.

Beginner and seasoned coaches are wanted to fill Head and Assistant Coach positions in the U7-U18 Divisions.

Glace Bay's Kent Verbeski selected as an assistant coach

On April1, 2025, Darren Sutherland, Hockey Nova Scotia's High Performance Director announced the coaching staff for the 2025 Male U15 Program. Glace Bay's Kent Verbeski was selected as an assistant coach as were Bradley Shaw and Nick Yuill of the Halifax Metro area. Dave Byrne was named the Head Coach. During the past three hockey seasons Verbeski was an Associate Coach of the NS U16 Martello Buccaneers.

 

     The NS U15 coaching staff began its player evaluation during Spring Camp (May 9-11) at the RBC Centre, Dartmouth, NS, involving six reams, playing four games each. Plus, there was a Goalie session.

 

     Summer Camp takes place in July (5-8) at St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, NS. Players are selected for the Summer Camp at the conclusion of the Spring Camp. Players typically stay in residence and are on campus for five days participating in both on and off-ice sessions.

 

     The Atlantic Challenge Cup takes place on the Thanksgiving Day Weekend (Oct. 10-12) in Moncton, NB. The provincial teams from all four Atlantic Provinces come together for the premier showcase in Atlantic Canada. A roster of twenty players will be selected not only for the U15 but for all other age groups participating.
