Like elves in Santa's workshop, volunteers were busy collecting money, and ticket stubs, for Glace Bay Minor Hockey’s 50/50 draw on Sunday.

Meanwhile, many who were forking it over had visions of dollar signs dancing in their heads.

These young athletes put on their 'philanthropist hats', and hosted their own 'Pink at the Rink' game. 

Collecting donations at the door, holding a snack bar and a 50/50, they raised $700 for cancer care, here at home! 

Their efforts will support the more than 45,000 patient-visits made annually to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre. 

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, dedication, and spirit! 

All GBMH ice at the Glace Bay Miners Forum From Thursday Dec 7th to Sunday Dec 10th is cancelled due to the Panther Classic tournament taking place

The Glace Bay Miners and the County Islanders faced off Tuesday evening at the Miners Forum. 

William Clarke opened the scoring for the Islanders early in the first period. Colton Jeddore and Colton Buttars picked up assists on the goal. 

The Miners would get on the board late in the first period off the stick of Cale Baker. Noah Heffernan and Cole Loder assisted on the goal. 

Bryden Kelly, for Glace Bay, and Caillex Tournidis, for County, shut the door the rest of the way between the pipes.

The Glace Bay U18AA were up early Saturday morning to help unload a special delivery for the Glace Bay Food Bank. 

More than $14,000 worth of food was delivered from PEI to Glace Bay just in time for the holidays. 

It was a team effort and two trailers were emptied in less than an hour! 

A job well done by all! 

What a weekend of hockey in North Sydney!

The U13A Miners played their hearts out in several very close games on the road to victory!

The Miners ended their tournament with a 3-2 shootout win over the Northside Vikings on Sunday, capturing top spot in the 2023 Bobby Joe Ryan Memorial Tournament.
