CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR U13A GLACE BAY MINERS FOR TAKING HOME THE WINNING BANNER WITH A 4-2 WIN OVER COUNTY IN THIS YEARS CAPE BRETON CUP!

Kenzie Lahey opened the scoring for the Islanders 2:13 into the first period. 

But Jaxon Leblanc would tie things up for the Miners with 3:53 remaining in the opening period. 

Lauchie McNeil would put the Islanders back in front just 16 seconds after the Miners tied it. 

County Islanders led 2-1 after the first period. 

Landon Pollock scored at 7:37 mark of the second period to tie it once again for the Miners 2-2. 

Just 1:34 later Jaxson Leblanc would give the Miners their first lead of the game. A goal that ended up being the game winner. 

Landon Pollock would add his second of the game in the third period to round out the scoring.

The Glace Bay Miners defeated the County Islanders 7-1 in the U13A Championship game at the 2025 Heritage Classic in New Waterford.

Landon Pollock opened the scoring for the miners at 11:49 mark of the first period.

Brody Hannan, and Liam Gracie would add singles before the period was done.

The Miners would add four more goals in the second period. Lucas Evasuk MacDonald netted a hat trick, and Cohen Lynk scored.

It's the second tournament win this year for the 13A Miners!

The U18-AA Miners made a donation of $1800.00 to the Tom MacNeil Cancer Patient Care Fund.

The Miners recently held a "Hockey Fights Cancer Night" at the forum and raised the money. 

The Tom McNeil Cancer Patient Care Fund has a goal of relieving financial stress for Cape Bretoners battling cancer. The Fund supports up to 100 Cape Breton Cancer Centre patients each month by helping to cover costs of travel to-and-from medical appointments, both locally and to Halifax; home bills; counselling services; prescriptions not covered by insurance, and more.
